  • Good Afternoon,

At the Monday, January 25, 2021 Special Board meeting, the St. Maries Joint School District Board of Trustees voted to approve and implement the new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in regard to quarantine procedures.  Beginning Tuesday, January 26, 2021 students that are exposed to COVID at school will no longer be expected to quarantine if ALL parties are properly wearing masks.  Instead, the exposed students will be asked to closely monitor their health status and stay home if they develop any COVID symptoms.  In cases where masks are not or cannot be properly worn (sports), students who are exposed to COVID will be expected to quarantine.

As a result of this guidance, and in an effort to help minimize the number of students needing to quarantine, the Board of Trustees also voted to extend the mask requirement for the students and staff of St. Maries School Joint School District.  Masks are required to be properly worn at all times when social distancing is not possible.

It is important to note that, up to this point, St. Maries School District’s precautionary steps have been successful, as there has been NO school related transmission of COVID.  The safety of our staff and students is our top priority. The Trustees appreciates your support as we move forward in our attempts to educate students during this pandemic.
