School District Highlights
- All District Schools are Four- and Five-Star Schools as determined by the State Department of Education.
- Development of Response to Intervention (RTI) Program focused on individual student growth.
- Implementation of Common Core State Standards.
- Small class sizes: Heyburn Elementary School's student-teacher ratio of 21:1 is lower than the Idaho state average of 24.1.
- The high school graduation rate of 96% is higher than the Idaho state average of 82%.
- Increased on-line and blended-learning courses, as well as advanced-learning opportunities at the secondary level.
- Successful Health Occupations Program in partnership with local medical service providers and area colleges at secondary level. Students participated in a live kidney transplant via the Idaho Education Network technology link.
- Development of Agriculture/Forestry Program as secondary level.
- State-qualifying athletic and co-curricular activities programs.
- Recognized by Governor Otter in previous State-of-the-State Address for advancements in the use of technology.
- Close working relationship with local Emergency Medical Services and law enforcement agencies.
- Security upgrades to all four schools.
